How to play

FANFAIL has two separate scoring systems. Disaster Squad points and Prediction Points never mix and have separate leaderboards.

A) Disaster Squad

Your 15 players earn Disaster Squad points when they have bad real-life matches.

    • Budget £100m · max 3 players per club
    • XI:
    • Only your starting XI score. Bench players don't score.
    • 2 free transfers per gameweek.
    • Your squad locks at each gameweek deadline.

    Captain, Vice & Triple Disaster

    CCaptain earns 2× Disaster Squad points.

    VVice Captain earns 2× only if the Captain does not play.

    Triple Disaster

    Once per season, your Captain scores 3× instead of 2×. Activate it on My Team before the deadline; it can't be changed after lock. If the Captain doesn't play, the Vice gets the normal 2×.

    B) Disaster of the Week

    Prediction Points — completely separate from your squad.

      Risk multiplier

      Risk is calculated automatically from historical data. You cannot choose the multiplier.

      Combo

      2 or more qualifying disasters in the same match: +0 once. The Risk multiplier applies to the Disaster Points and the Combo.

      Success Penalty

      If your player performs well, you lose points. Penalties stack. The Risk multiplier does NOT apply. An average game = 0 penalty.

      Only events reliably supplied by our data provider count. Man of the Match is not scored because reliable data is unavailable.

      Important prediction rules

      • ONE prediction per gameweek: Player + Disaster + Risk + Confirmation.
      • After locking, the player, disaster and risk cannot be changed.
      • Player doesn't play: NO CONTEST — 0 points, streak unchanged.
      • Player plays: the prediction is valid.
      • Correct prediction: streak +1. Wrong prediction: streak resets.
      • A correct Yellow Card prediction counts as correct for your streak, even though it awards 0 points.
      • A second-yellow sending-off counts as a Red Card.
      • All deadlines are shown in your own local time.

      Disaster of the Season

      • Choose one player as your Disaster of the Season.
      • The pick is locked for the whole season.
      • This season started already, so your pick scores from the current eligible gameweek onward — never retroactively.
      • If your player leaves the Premier League, he is not silently replaced.
